The menu is simple, consisting of what one would expect—tacos, burritos, tortas and quesadillas. Meat options include the usual steak, chicken, fried and spicy pork, as well as stomach, head and tripe.
I ordered three tacos—one each of chicken, spicy pork and steak—with a Coke. Each taco is served on doubled-up corn tortillas topped with pinto beans, cilantro, thinly sliced pickled jalapeños, diced red onions and a grilled cipollini onion, and a few chilies on the side. The tacos are small, which is perfect since the tortillas become fragile as they soak up the juices from the meat. At only $1.25 each, they are the right size for the price. My hands-down favorite was the spicy pork. It was smoky with just the right amount of spice, even for those who are spice lightweights.
With three tacos and a Coke for a whopping $5.25, I have found my new “must eat at” place in Vallejo.
